Our names are Louise and Alistair Elgey and we live in the North East of England.
We have been married for 23 years and have 6 wonderful children aged from 26 to 7. We’ve always loved having a big family, but it’s no secret that it comes with its own set of financial challenges. Over the years, we’ve become adept at maximizing every pound and penny, and have accumulated plenty of money-saving tips and tricks that we’d love to share with you.
Alistair has been the primary breadwinner in our household, working for a prominent telecommunications company on the cutting edge of technology, where he troubleshoots IT related technical issues for large Corporate businesses. While raising our kids was my main job, I also ran a home-based childminding business for a decade, where I had the privilege of caring for numerous children during that time. As our own kids grew and our youngest started school, I switched to running an after-school club. It was a job I loved, even though it meant working evenings with my youngest three children in tow.
In 2020 my after-school business closed its doors for the last time and Alistair made the transition to working from home. Like so many others around that time, we found ourselves re-evaluating our lives and recognising how our demanding work schedules had impacted our precious family time. The realisation dawned upon us that working from home held the key to a more harmonious work-life balance. Our quest to find ways of earning extra income from the comfort of our home led to a remarkable journey. Today, we’ve not only successfully replaced my income by working exclusively from home but have also witnessed our earnings grow month by month.
This website was born out of our desire to extend a helping hand to families just like ours who are seeking to bolster their finances while enjoying more quality time with their families. After 26 years of parenting, we’ve gathered a wealth of experiences that we believe can be of assistance or, at the very least, be relatable.
